November 26, 2025

As of 1st November there are now two 100W solar panels installed.

I was going to use a second hand 230W panel but they were too cheap and ended up being garbage, instead i ordered another new 100W panel and paralleled them up facing SE/SW to try grab more overall daylight.

Full sun on 1st Nov was giving 158W on the charge controller, I’ve yet to see what the cloudy day output is, hopefully more than 10W! one panel gave about 6W.

Hopefully this will keep it running over winter!

I’ve also now got logging of the Victron charge controller Bluetooth messages to my website.

Here’s an example from 9th November 2025 with the two panels, It’s obvious now that my power usage 24/7 is 8.5W so that is about 200Wh per day.

It’s amazing how it all adds up and how easy it is to take mains electricity for granted!
