This seemed like a challenge, to receive my first signals Via the Moon on 10GHz..
DK7LJ had reported that he was going to start testing an EME beacon on 10GHz from DL0SHF.
It is running 50W to an 8m dish, some 20MW EIRP! There is hope to receive something then!
I setup a 1m offset satellite dish, a newly purchased Octagon OTSLO PLL LNB and one of my Realtek SDR dongles.
The dish was fitted temporarily in place of my 3M dish which is currently being re-painted, the tracking setup for this is using F1EHN tracker board with fairly good accuracy.
I pointed the dish at the sun to check calibration and measured 6.3dB Cold sky to Sun noise which is not bad!
When the moon came up i pointed the dish and sure enough i could see a signal from DL0SHF... but only after i selected Vertical polarity on the LNB!
Here's the spectrum:
Audio Recording, some spreading of the signal and quite weak!:
